DIY Lavender Cleaning Spray
I absolutely adore the calming smell of lavender. This herb has long been recognized for its ability to help reduce stress and anxiety, and it may have other benefits as well. It’s a wonderful fragrance to use around your home wether in a floral sachet, oil diffuser, or even for cleaning.
I have been using this DIY Lavender Household Cleaning Spray for years now. I love that each batch is so budget friendly. It’s all natural and contains just a few ingredients, making it perfect for gentle cleaning around the house. I even use this spray to clean in my sewing and craft room!

The Recipe
You will need:
- Dried Lavender (I got mine here)
- White Distilled Vinegar
- Filtered Water
- 1 Quart Mason Jar
- 16 oz Glass Spray Bottle
Measure out 1 cup (about 230 g) of dried lavender. Place the lavender in a 1 Quart (.95 Liter) mason jar. Fill the jar the rest of the way with White Distilled Vinegar. Screw the lid onto the jar tightly, and store in a cool dry place for three days up to one week.
After allowing your lavender to steep, you will will see that your vinegar mixture has turned a beautiful shade of purple. Now you are ready to strain the lavender. I use an old flour sifter held over a bowl to catch the liquid. (I add the discarded lavender right into my garden compost.)
Fill your 16 oz (473 ml) Glass Spray Bottle 1/3 of the way full with your Lavender Infused Vinegar. Fill the rest of the bottle up with with filtered water and replace the lid. Your Lavender Cleaning Spray is now ready to use!
One optional last step is to add a label to your bottle. Keep reading below to see how I created a label, and to get a free label you can print and use too.

I designed my label in a matter of minutes using the free elements available in Canva. If you’ve never used this software before, you should definitely check it out. Canva makes it super easy for anyone to design professional looking projects, and there are plenty of free design features to choose from.
If you’d like to save even more time, you can download the label I made here.
To create my adhesive label, I used the Print-and-Cut feature on my Cricut. If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can still make this label project- just use scissors instead.
I sized my label at 2.25 inches wide by 3 inches tall. I printed the design onto printable inkjet sticker paper, then added a laminate to make the label water resistant. After cutting out and applying the label to my bottle, this project is complete!
I love how adding a simple label makes this affordable DIY cleaner look like an expensive, high-end cleaning product. It’s even looks great when I leave it out on my kitchen counter.
